At PCB Train, we have over 60 years of experience in the manufacture and assembly of ultra-reliable printed circuit boards, or PCBs. To achieve such high standards, we use the best industry techniques and technologies available and have created a unique “railway network” production process to keep costs low and lead times on track.
Of the many services we offer, PCB Train Express is one of our most popular. It is advised for customers who are looking to create prototypes to test their designs on a smaller scale before putting money down for a larger production run.
Read on below to discover how PCB prototyping could benefit you.
PCB Prototyping
In instances where a specific PCB design is being used for the first time, it’s highly recommended that you put together a prototype. Doing so will have many practical and financial benefits to your company, helping you to save on time, money and resources in the long run.
At a basic level, PCB prototyping is useful for identifying any design flaws with your PCB before moving into a full final production run. Costs can be saved here and elsewhere, with prototyping enabling you to test multiple designs at a lower price and make tweaks early on in the process for a fraction of what such changes might cost later on.
Crucially, what a PCB prototype does is allow you to see what works and what doesn’t before you invest a significant amount of money in your product. Failure to test out your design at this stage may have unwanted financial ramifications if complications arise further on in the production stage, so this isn’t really a step you should seek to avoid.
PCB Train Express
PCB Train simplifies the production of PCBs by placing all designs of the same specification on the same production sheet. This enables us to process orders for different customers at the same time without needing to charge expensive set-up costs to each individual client, which saves money for everyone involved.
If you order via PCB Train Express before 9am, you will receive your PCB prototypes by 12 noon the following day. This exclusive 1-day turnaround service is favoured by engineers who want their prototypes back with them quickly at a low cost. There are some limitations to what we can do here, so please bear this in mind when sending over your design. In particular, PCB Train Express PCBs are supplied without legends and solder resist to minimise the cost of this ultra-fast service. This facilitates cutting and strapping, which is invariably required for benchtop prototypes, and minimises time to market for new, unproven electronic designs at reasonable cost.
Ultimately, quick verification processes will allow you to get your product to market faster in order to capitalise on demand and optimise your profitability. So what are you waiting for?
